Kathy Tyers

Kathy Tyers is an American science fiction writer. She has contributed two novels to the galaxy of Star Wars fiction.

After the success of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy in the early 1990s, then Star Wars publisher Bantam Spectra approached Kathy Tyers to write a Star Wars novel. Tyers accepted the offer and The Truce At Bakura was released in November 1993. The novel became a New York Times Bestseller.

In the late 1990s, current Star Wars publisher Del Rey approached Tyers to write a novel in the New Jedi Order series. Balance Point, the sixth book in the New Jedi Order, was released in October 2000.
